Future

What's Next?

In envisioning my future as a designer, I am driven by a profound interest in creating cultural awareness and embracing diverse perspectives. Our interconnected world presents both opportunities and challenges, with technology often reinforcing cultural barriers. As a designer, I believe it is our responsibility to bridge these gaps and build a more inclusive society.

I aim to go beyond surface-level adaptations for different cultures and instead seek a deep understanding of diverse perspectives. By immersing myself in different communities, I can gain invaluable insights that inform my design process, ensuring that my creations cater to the unique needs of individuals from various backgrounds.

Recent interest in my final bachelor project during Demoday has sparked my curiosity about bringing it to the market. This unexpected response has ignited a desire to explore product development and marketing, allowing me to have a tangible impact on users’ lives. This entrepreneurial aspect of design excites me, and I look forward to delving into this realm.

To gain practical experience and further inform my academic path, I have decided to postpone my master’s degree for a year. Instead, I plan to work in a professional design environment in Europe, outside the Netherlands. This experience will provide valuable skills and insights, as well as exposure to diverse cultures. It will also enhance my understanding of the design industry, assisting in my decision-making process for my future studies.

Looking ahead, I am filled with anticipation for the opportunities that lie before me. Collaborating with individuals from diverse backgrounds, I aim to create innovative and culturally sensitive designs. Effective communication and teamwork will remain central to my design process, ensuring successful collaborations and impactful projects.

While mental health was previously a significant aspect of my design identity, I now prioritize cultural impact. By incorporating cultural sensitivity into my work, I aspire to bridge gaps, foster understanding, and contribute to a more inclusive society.

In summary, my future involves cultivating cultural awareness, gaining practical experience, and making informed decisions about my academic path. I am eager to embark on this journey, confident that it will shape me into a more empathetic and impactful designer.

Creativity & Aesthetics

Throughout my bachelor’s studies, I have developed my expertise in Creativity & Aesthetics, which has been a significant strength and passion of mine throughout my design journey. I believe these areas are fundamental for any designer, as they allow for innovative problem-solving and leave a lasting impression on users. I have improved my ability to imagine and bring to life visually attractive and innovative designs. Through coursework and practical projects, I have explored different techniques and approaches to enhance the visual appeal of my creations.

Courses like Aesthetics of Interaction, Exploratory Sketching, Design and Sensorial Form and my Projects of which primarily my FBP, have helped me experiment with a range of materials, colors, textures, and forms, enabling me to create designs that evoke emotions and engage users on a sensory level. My portfolio showcases the evolution of my Creativity & Aesthetics expertise, highlighting my commitment to pushing design boundaries while maintaining a harmonious balance between form and function.

By combining my passion for creativity and a keen sense of aesthetics, I aim to create designs that inspire and seamlessly integrate into users’ lives. My work reflects my growth as a designer, demonstrating my ability to merge artistic expression with practical utility. As I embark on the next phase of my design journey, I am eager to explore new horizons in Creativity & Aesthetics, continually refining my skills and pushing the boundaries of design.
